Multi-level marketing, also known as MLM, is also known as sub-affiliates, or multi-tier affiliate marketing. Joining an MLM programme is free. Affiliates receive commissions for both their own sales and those of their sub-affiliates. Existing affiliates are encouraged to find new affiliates as part of a marketing strategy. The existing affiliates earn a network commission on the sales made by affiliates that under them.
Each affiliate will receive a network connection once the MLM scheme launches so they can invite others. We can say, they are parent affiliates. Other participants will become sub-affiliates with one level below the one who was introduced if they click on the network link and sign up for the affiliate programme.
Based on product selling, level 1 invites level 2 to join, and level 2 extends to level 3. If a sub-affiliate on the third level gets a referral sale, he/she will get a commission from the sold price. Meanwhile, the upper affiliates on the level 2 and 1 who invite him/her will get a thankful commission. Regularly, there will be more levels to expand downwards.

The structure mentioned below has an example. If Tom registers as an affiliate, Susan accepts his invitation, and Susan extends it to Daniel. When Daniel submits a referral order worth a total of $1,000 and the affiliate program’s commission rate is set at 10% on order sales, Daniel (the original affiliate) will receive the entire 10% commission; other affiliates with higher levels will receive commissions based on the affiliate program’s commission rate. The commission percentage is often set as follows:

  • Daniel, who brings a referral order, receives a commission level 3 bonus of 10% on order sales.
  • Susan, who introduces Daniel, receives 10% of Daniel's commission at commission level 2,
  • Tom, who invites Susan, receives 8% of Daniel's commission at commission level 1.
